Projects / AI Visibility Checker

In development

Does AI recommend your business?

Your customers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude who to hire. The AI Visibility Checker asks those same questions, in English and 中文, and shows whether your business gets named, and who gets named instead.

Illustrative example — not real data.

The problem

The new front page is an AI answer

More people now skip the search results and ask an AI assistant directly: “Who's the best accountant in San Diego?” The assistant replies with two or three names. If yours isn't one of them, that customer never reaches your website, however good it is.

Most businesses have no idea what these assistants say about them. Each engine searches differently, answers change from day to day, and they differ between English and Chinese. You can't fix what you can't see.

How it works

Four steps

  1. 1 You

    Tell me about the business

Name, website, what you do and where. That's all it needs.

  2. 2 Ask

    Ask like a customer

About ten real customer questions in English and 中文, sent to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude with live web search. Each one runs several times, because AI answers vary.

  3. 3 Read

    Read every answer

Was your business named? In what position? Who was named instead, and which websites did the AI cite as its sources?

  4. 4 Check

    Check your website

Structured data, an llms.txt file, whether AI crawlers are blocked, page speed: the things AI engines rely on to understand and trust a site.

What you get

A report you can act on

  • A visibility score: for each AI engine and each language, so you see where you're strong and where you're invisible.
  • The exact questions and answers: word for word, so nothing is a black box.
  • Who gets named instead: the competitors AI recommends when it doesn't recommend you.
  • The sources AI trusts: the directories, review sites and articles it cites. That's where you need to appear.
  • Fixes, ranked by impact: specific changes to your site and listings, most important first.
  • A baseline to measure against: run it again after the fixes and see what changed.

Why it matters

Why it helps your business

  • See what customers see

Know what the answer is when someone asks AI for a business like yours, before it costs you customers.

  • Know who you're up against

AI often recommends businesses you'd never think of as competitors. Now you'll know their names.

  • Fix the right things first

A ranked list of changes, instead of guessing at “AI SEO” advice.

  • Reach both markets

Checks English and Chinese separately. Many businesses show up in one language and vanish in the other.

How to use it

Early access, while I build it

  1. 1

Send your business name and website

Use the contact form. Include your city and what customers usually ask you for.

  2. 2

I run the check and email you the report

Usually within a few days, and free during early access.

  3. 3

Fix it yourself, or with me

The report is yours either way. If you want help, these fixes are the SEO / AEO / GEO work I do.

A self-serve version, where you enter your business and get the report by email, is coming to this site.

Under the hood

Built like production software

Python and LangGraph, calling each engine's own web-search API so the answers match what real users see. Every response is saved, every run logs its cost, and the scoring will be tested against businesses whose answers are already known.

  1. Ask one engine one question and save the answerDone
  2. Generate customer questions in English and 中文
  3. Add ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini in parallel
  4. Detect mentions, positions and competitors
  5. Check the website
  6. Score it and produce the report
  7. Test against known businesses; track cost
